I have been working in veterinary medicine since 2000 and have been part of Virginia Beach Veterinary Hosptial since September 2005. I started working as a receptionist at Jolly Pond Veterinary Hospital in September 2004 and left in 2008. Before that, I worked at VA Medical Center in Norfolk, VA, as a veterinary assistant to the chief of staff and receptionists at Virginia Beach Veterinary Hospital.
I graduated in 2009 and then attended the University of Virginia School of Veterinary Medicine, where I earned my DVM in 2010 after a year at VA Medical Center in Virginia Beach, VA. I spent a clinical year in Florida, then another year at Virginia Veterinary Hospital in Norfolk, Va. and the last year as a receptionist at Jolly Pond.
I received my DVM from the University of Georgia before moving to Norfolk to be close to my fiancé, who is attending medical school at EVMS. My goals are to obtain a veterinary degree and a license and one day to start working with marine animals. Kelly is enrolled at Tidewater Community College and will soon apply to Virginia Veterinary Medical Center in Norfolk, Va., and Virginia State University in Richmond.
My favourite animals are elephants and horses and I hope to maintain a small animal practice when I become a licensed vet. My interests outside work include baking the most amazing fruit pies and exploring the Hampton Roads area.
